So it turns out that while they'll give you and EAD appointment on a Monday, they only actually give out EAD cards on Wednesdays.

So I have to go back. It should be noted that as far as I can tell, Tampa is unique in this -- everywhere else I've heard of, you get your card that day.

So the battle will be joined again on Wednesday, and I *will* emerge victorious.

Although I knock the INS a lot, there are decent human beings that work there. I mean they can't have all assholes working for them :)

I also think that the fact you are an intelligent and articulate woman works in your favor down there. They don't have to spell things out in easy terms and argue with you like they do with some people.
(at least that is my observation from being there a few times)

That's true. And I'm willing to stand in line and I don't insist on knocking on the door and telling them they *have* to let me in.

And I have all my forms ready before they ask for them. :) That's a big one.
