Regular readers of this little missive may remember that it was a week ago today when, having finally gotten an interview date for the Montreal consulate, I phoned my endo in London. I was seeking a date from the doctor my endo is referring me to, but what I got was "we don't know yet, but they should call you within a couple of days". Regular readers with particularly good memories may remember that I asked when I could call back, should I not have heard. She said a week.

Well, I haven't heard, so I called back today. I was told that they *still* haven't gotten a date from the other doctor's office, but that it should be Real Soon Now.

I pointed out that I was very frustrated, because, you know, moving forward with the REST OF MY LIFE is dependant on getting this out of the way, and it's very difficult to plan things like 1000 mile moves when you have no idea *when* you'll be able to go.

She said she'd pull my chart, and put me on hold.

When she got back on the phone, she told me that she had phoned the other doctor's office, and that the office nurse there had pulled my file to the top of the pile. So hopefully it should be looked at Real Soon Now.

Urg. And it's not like the appointment I'm getting here is a little "oh, go in and see the doctor and have him poke around a bit". No. This is a "disrupt your entire life for a month before and a couple weeks after" kind of of thing. And not just disruptive for me. Someone needs to be available to drive me down to London on three separate occasions, and make a trip down to pick me up on a fourth occasion. And it's at least a month away from the day I get the phone call, since I have to be off my meds for that long.

Plus, I get to deal with the voice in the back of my head that says that every day I wait means more chances for my damned pituitary to create hormone to encourage any little specks of thyroid still in there to grow. And the darker little voice that says "and what if some of those little specks aren't just benign thyroid tissue".

And now to the eyelets, since the eyelet fairies have yet again failed to visit my house. Maybe they need a road map.

Gag. Get a room.

Leave out a dish of cookies, maybe that'll attract 'em.
