As elated as I am about the light at the end of the immigration tunnel, I'm still facing down the Ontario health system.

::sighs::

My endo is referring me to the nuclear medicine doctor in London, who's going to perform the radioactive iodine. When I saw my endo on 12Jan, he told me that Dr. Nuc would call me within a week. It hasn't happened yet.

I haven't been pushing it because I was hoping to have the consulate appointment scheduled first, since it's inherently less flexible than the doctors (US Department of State vs nice doctors who understand my situation -- you do the math).

Having gotten my interview (yay!), I phoned my endo's office a few minutes ago. They haven't gotten a date yet, so it'll be "a few more days" until Dr. Nuc calls. I asked how long I should wait until I call the endo's office back, and she suggested a week.

At this point, it will *not* be before the end of February that I have the proceedure. I have to be off the levothyroxine at *least* four weeks, and sometimes six.

Someday, I will be able to plan.

better (to some extent) to do this all here where it's covered by OHIP, than in the states (even with ross' health plan coverage...)

absolutely, completely agreed.

Ross and I made the decision a while back that I would finish up my course of treatment for this thing here, before I moved down.

It doesn't mean I have to *like* it. ;)
