What's more stunning than the fact that they've actually created a male contraceptive is the fact that they did it in Australia.
Think this means that the Leafs actually have a chance this year?

Date: 2003-10-07 11:29 am (UTC)though maybe with australian men, it just makes them more like canadian men.
(My father told me once that, while he liked his Australian friends, he'd really rather I didn't ever marry one because he didn't think I would be able to deal with the attitude.)
um.... yeah
Date: 2003-10-07 10:47 am (UTC)turning that off would be tantamount to saying, "hey, let's let the low-level estrogen run rampant until all your facial hair falls off and you start retaining water once a month in your... hey, are those *boobs*???"
i'll stick to *my* pills and condoms as needed, please and thanks, and leave my regular testosterone injections Just As They Are!

Aiiiiieee!
When I work out on "leg day", the large muscles in my thighs and legs squeeze out tons of testosterone... and I *really* notice it. I get incredibly horny and feel invulnerable. Plus, I get a boost in lean muscle mass.
It may work in the short term, but turning *off* testosterone completely sounds like a horrible idea. Thousands of men already take testosterone supplements as it is... and I plan on doing the same when I get older. They restore feelings of youth and vitality, and help keep your lean muscles intact.
Keep it away! Away!

Date: 2003-10-27 12:08 pm (UTC)What surprised me, based on every Australian male I've ever known (and on the testimony of some australian women friends), was them finding one Aussie male (let alone a whole test group) who would be willing to have his testosterone lowered in the interests of birth control.
