I want to go see some films at the TIFF. But the question is what to see. I'm really, really tempted by the 1919 In God's Country.... It's (to my knowledge) Canada's first extant film.

Of course, there are two films starring Colin Firth showing.. one is showing as a Gala, which means he'll actually be on the stage for all of about 2 minutes to introduce the film before he goes back to chow down on expensive catered food and drink while we plebes watch the movie.

The only other film I've been to at the Festival was also a gala.. From Hell, on Sept 10, 2001. If I had the night to live over, I wouldn't have seen the film.

Hrm.. so I think i'll call Joel and ask his advice.....

we will, at some point i'm sure, be in the same place at the same time, yes? something on a more finite scale than the current "well, we're both in south-western ontario today" scenario? :)

i'm working all three days this weekend, so both sunday night and monday are out.

won't be at Day in the Country, because that's aibhilin & aeneas' handfasting for those what didn't get invited to the mostly-family-only wedding. should be at Coronation, and will also be at Baronial Leith on the 13th September. have to fit in visit to Mum's sometime soon, too.

I'm voting for anything that involves seeing Colin Firth IRL, even for two minutes.
