easy: get less than an hour's sleep after a 20 hour day, catch a 4:30 am pickup, spend an hour on the road then four hours waiting around the airport, and cross 5 time zones in almost 8 hours spending the flight so crammed in between two other restless bodies that anything more than fleeting superficial naps are impossible.
on the upside, i did get to see X-Men 2 again as one of the inflight movies...
