Sure, I could eat the chips, but if I want a granola bar, or the low fat cookies, I have to deal with the soy.
I'm either going to have to start eating a whole food diet, or start a company making healthy snacks without soy.

Date: 2003-07-31 09:29 am (UTC)Since the thyroid's function is to take in iodine and convert it to T4, someone like me (whose thyroid is already underperforming on the output) doesn't need to make the situation worse by consuming a substance that will block the input.
Hence, I've stopped eating soy products (and broccoli for the same reason).

Synthroid's pdf for doctors (http://synthroid.com/SYNTHROID_PI.pdf) mentions soy flour, especially in infant formula.
