Shoot a whole bunch of really fantastic shots before you realize that the film didn't actually catch, and hasn't been advancing, and nothing more frustrating will happen to you for the rest of the day.
Bonus points if the light that was so great goes completely away as you're realizing it.

Date: 2003-06-08 06:45 am (UTC)The camera I was having problems with is a Praktica that used to be my Grandfather's (and the reason I was using it was because of the lens that I have for it, but not my Pentax). It was made in the early 80's, in East Germany. The only problem with it is that the frame counter is broken. (Which is why I didn't notice until way late in the process.) And it'd cost way too much to get the thing fixed.
But the light came back later in the day. I was shooting things, not people or events, so I was lucky in that respect.
