Aug. 25th, 2008 11:50 amSo this weekend, I discovered that I may be made of epic failure at Rock Band bass, but I completely rock out at the vocals in same. The Paramour and I went to the home of one of his friends last night to have barbeque and pretend to be rock stars. I have never been terribly good at game controllers, probably because I'm rarely exposed to them. Microphones, OTOH, I can handle. After we left the party, we went home and rocked some more with his karaoke software .
Also this weekend, I dropped by the buskers festival several times, since the Paramour lives a short distance away. I ran into many fun people there, some by chance and some by design. We also made it up to the market on Saturday morning to get stuffs for the barbeque.
Alas, such carefree weekends are going to be in short supply in my near future; I've been asked, and agreed, to spearhead the costumes for KWLT's upcoming performance of Captain Hook's Revenge. I believe (and Anita, correct me if I'm wrong) that this means that I'll be poking you before too long with offers to take advantage of the pre-sale opportunity afforded to friends and family of the cast and crew. You should go to the website now, and decide which performance you want to attend, so that you're prepared when I approach you for your pre-sale order.
Also soon to be curtailed, I suspect, are the numerous trips into Toronto I've been taking; August seems to have been the Month of Toronto. Last week I was in on Wednesday night and all day Thursday for a training course in Cascading Stylesheets in MadCap Flare. It was a good course, and I learned bunches. Plus, I had dinner with Ilana. Previous to that, the Paramour and I went in for dim sum with his mother and hanging out with some of his friends. And a mere four days before that, we saw Avenue Q, thanks to
the_emi. That, of course, was the day after we made an impromptu trip to Centreville.
This week, I'll be rounding out the Month of Toronto with dinner with
courtly tomorrow night, and a planned drop in on
angel_sil and
kylmak on the weekend. Who knows what'll happen in September? I have a whole 23 days of it before the Hook casting occurs and i can start the costuming in earnest.
Like that.
