Weekend wrapup

So, last May 24 weekend, I went to Centre Island in Toronto and ate yummy food. What was not detailed in that post was my utter fascination - born that very day - with Centreville.

I have wanted to ride in the swan boats ever since. Because, seriously.. swan boats. How glorious is that?

This past weekend, I did not get my wish. However, I did get to partake of other gleeful kiddy fun at Centreville. We had time only for the train and the Scrambler-in-the-Dark, but it was glee-arific all the same.

There was also Indian food and wandering around Centre Island with angel_sil and kylmak involved. (Sadly, they are not 6-years old like me, so there was no glee for them.)

Oh, and some party by some guy hardly anyone knows on Saturday night. Which was great, and has spawned you tube videos, so you know that there was some kinda fun going on. I'm deeply amused at how widespread the sarong phenomenon is among my friends.

Finally, Abstract this coming Friday is a go from my end. Lianne, did you want a ride?

my calendar says we're having dinner tomorrow evening at your place, but i am going to be sans vehicle;, matthew will likely be taking mine to fergus as his awaits what i suspect is a tie rod replacement and some other work. do you want to come here instead, or rebook?

i have no idea, since i haven't given it any more thought than looking at the calendar, and i'm really not sure what's in the fridge. we're doing groceries tonight, so i'll let you know afterwards if there's anything i need you to bring (if you don't hear from me, assume i've got everything covered, or that i'm just winging it tomorrow ;-)

'twasn't so much the rides themselves as the sheer volume of unsupervised kneebiters hording around them.

I definitely want to go back to the island(s) when it's less crowded and do the pedal boats on the river and make use of the LLBO place we found.

I think I realized neither the extent of your crowd aversion nor the volume of people who'd be there.
