The cardamom buttercream was absolutely lovely -- on its own, it was a teensy bit strong, but when paired with the cake and pomegranate reduction, it balanced really nicely.
I'm still not entirely happy with the heaviness of the cake itself, but the pomegranate reduction was a perfect balance of tart and sweet.
