The Family Stone
Dec. 20th, 2005 10:13 amSo I tripped out to the local theatre last night to see The Family Stone, which looked, from the trailer, like a fun little family Christmas romp. And yes, there were some very funny parts.
But god damn, people, if you're going to throw in a whole bag of actual tragedy and pathos, would you warn a girl?
Suffice it to say that after the movie made me cry, the massive giant bout of homesickness it triggered pretty much took me out back, beat me up, and stole my lunch money. Triggered, not caused; I've been pretty off kilter for a couple of months now and I really need to figure out why and how to deal with it.
However, that's not the point. The point is that the movie's great, but not exactly as advertised.
