In a five part series, [livejournal.com profile] bradhicks outlines some very, very salient points about the current state of Christianity in the United States.

Some of it (especially in the second part, where he discussed the origins of a Faustian bargain between the Republicans and the the leaders of the evangelical and fundamentalist churches) is disturbing. Some of it is enlightening. And some of it, for me at least is inspiring, outlining as it does the biblical and theological arguments for many of the aspects of the faith I try to practice.

All of it should be read, if for no other reason than to be able to knock the legs out from bad arguments, and to understand some of what's been happening in this country.

Do I think it's all true? Of course not. It's still something written by some guy and has to be read critically. But I do think it should be read.

Watch Irrational Girl snap at her husband for not picking up the phone!

See Irrational Girl almost break down over not being able to find the dipstick in the car!***

Witness Irrational Girl walk into a CVS for Pamprin and Monistat, look futilely for 10 minutes, and then, upon being told by an employee that they'd moved all the feminine care products to a completely different section of the store, snap "fair enough. thank you, but I'm not going to buy them because I couldn't find them without being told".

All this, though hopefully not more, on real, live, stereovision! The excitement! The danger! The thrills!

Don't miss this week's exciting episode of Irrational Girl!

Yeah, like that. ::sighs::

***In my defense, apparently the dipstick handle has broken off, so you have to be shown where it is.
