Apr. 3rd, 2005 07:48 pmI left Ross at home sick this afternoon to go to the Largo Cultural Center to watch the Jobsite guys do The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). I laughed my ass off. It was quite funny, though seemed slightly less substantial than both the Bible and US History offerings. The second half seemed to fly by - I wasn't looking at my watch, so I don't know if it's because the first half was actually longer than the second half, or whether there was just more action/jokes/stuff packed into the first half.
The one thing that could have improved it a bit is articulation - David was clear as a bell throughout the entire thing, but Shawn and Jason were a tiny bit mumbly in spots, which may have been exacerbated by the size of the theatre. I've certainly never noticed it in any of the other plays I've seen them in. I know I missed a couple of jokes because of it. However, there were *plenty* of other jokes that I didn't miss.
But, God help me, ever since I left the theater, I can't shake the idea of Jobsite doing "Our Town: The Director's Cut". I'm going to hell.
