Update from quarantine central

hel_anaHopefully this won't become an annual thing.
Being warned that a person I spent a great deal of time with up in Canada came down with a severe case of strep not 2 days after I left, and mindful of the fact that my immune system.. well, kinda sucks, I hied me to my doctor this morning. (Also, I had a vague feeling of warmth, mild pain, and tightness in my throat and a darned impressive cough, and wasn't sure if it was symptomatic or psychosomatic).
My throat looks like there's something going on in there ("impressively red" according to my doctor) and I have swollen lymph nodes. He took a swab, and put me on a 10 day course of penicillin.
Hopefully the fact that I'm on it before I'm really showing too many symptoms will mean that I'll be spared the worst effects.
Unlike, of course, last November. Ugh.
