So I'm trying to call the Canada Revenue Agency to start paying my taxes from last year.

The pain. It hurts. Seriously.

I call the international line. They tell me to call the payment line, except the payment line doesn't have my info because it's not to that level yet. So they give me another line to call.

Of course, when I call it, I discover that I can't dial it from the US, only from Canada.

So then I call the different line to arrange payment for my GST rebate clawback. No dice. They also told me to call the line that I can't dial from Canada.

They so suck.

So - explaining to them that the number doesn't work from the US, where you are, doesn't make them give you more useful information?

(Lemme know if you're still having problems - I know a few people at CRA - they might be able to help find numbers, etc)

No, when I explained to the second guy who gave me the number that I couldn't use it, he said "well, that's the only number I have".

Fortunately, I have a backup plan.

I loooooove the CRA. Their business inquiries line is automated and yet STILL I get busy signals more than half the times I call. I can't even get as far as the "your call is important, please stay on the line".

If all your avenues are exhausted I am literally overlooking the Canada building here in Edmonton and might be able to lend a hand.
