Frankly? Given the situation (little girl living with her father in a warehouse for weeks, and then being abandoned by him) I really question whether the mother is still alive.
Which is one of the reasons the situation is so awful.
I agree ... it's just an overall bad situation. I hope the little girl will be okay. I know if it was my son, he wouldn't even be able to tell them what my name is. It inspires me to start teaching him.
Well, that's the thing. If it were your son, wouldn't you (or your parents if you weren't available) have a missing persons report in long before this?
::sighs:: I hope they find someone to look after her.
Then again, if the situation was dire; living in a warehouse and such, there could be extreme poverty and criminal danger, the parent may have been doign his misguided best to protect her, knowing that she would get into the foster system. Not that the foster system is perfect, but it beats squatting in a warehouse.
I still think that daddy should have taken her to children's aid himself and explained it to her.
True, I'm not really faulting him (though as you say, he could have done it differently). I'm more saddened that no-one else has come forward since they found her.
