Ok, Ok, it's actually an interview with Mike, but he's gothy. Well.. sort of goth.

1) If you could live in a different era than the one you were born in, which would it be and why?

See, I don't think I would. I'm completely a child of the modern age. This comes across to me most vividly at SCA events. I love the middle ages. I love the clothing. But honestly, my attitudes and outlook on life is so completely antithical to that time period (and really, almost every time period) that I don't think I could be happy at any other time. Yes, it was more gracious living in the Edwardian period, as long as you were part of the elite... but there's so much that I wouldn't be able to deal with.

I'm a product of my age, and I belong here.

2) What is the "ritual" you have with your family that you will miss the most once you move to Florida?

Sit down supper on Sunday night. When I was very young, we got the china, crystal and silver out every Sunday night and ate dinner. (Note that we had a family dinner, at the table, every night, but we only had the china etc on Sunday.) We learned how to conduct ourselves, and learned the fine art of conversation over dinner.

We still have Sunday supper, although we don't usually get the china out. I'll miss those gatherings.

3) You meet someone who has never eaten Dim Sum before. Describe the experience, and your favorite types of Dim Sum, to them.

LOL You know this. Should I just quote from the ICQ message I sent you about this, way back when?

"Dim sum is lots of yummy little bites. You choose a large variety of dishes, and try little samples of each. It's best eaten with a lot of people, so you get a lot of variety. My favourite type is, hands down, the barbeque'd pork buns, with the pork surrounded by sweet sticky rice paste. I also love shrimp dumplings, especially ones with herbs in them.

Just come and try it."

4) You've been given a chance to take 10 minutes to say something to someone that you regret not saying in the past. Who is it, and what do you say?

When my maternal Grandma was in the hospital before she died, my parents told me to go to work, instead of making the trip to see her, because I was in crappy financial straights. I still regret taking their advice.

I would tell her I loved her one last time and say goodbye.

5) Use the ocean as a metaphor to describe your life at the current time.

There are patterns underneath the waves - currents and tides - pulling inevitably on anything caught in them. And yet to the human eye, it's complete chaos - we know the patterns are there, but we can't predict all the variables that will get that knarly sea- turtle riding the great current to his destination, so we don't know when it'll happen.

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the quote I'm using as the link text...
