I thought they just scaled the owner's ego... and much like ego, I didn't think it was all that functional.

Oh, egos are great.

And truly, if I'm going to make sweeping generalizations, their ego is like pretty damned small - it's the sense of entitlement that's huge.

I honestly believe that you need actual self-confidence to have an ego.
