Mar. 26th, 2007 12:41 amMost relaxing comfy weekend in a long long time - if not in living memory, certainly in recent memory. And all my laundry's done (and, more importantly, put away).
On Saturday night, I saw Falling: A Wake at the Registry Theatre - if you didn't see it, you should be saddened by this, because it was truly delightful. Kirkham uses silence, too rarely seen in theatre in my experience, beautifully.
This week is my last enamelling class. I'm pretty sure at this point that I'll be taking it again in the fall, because I only managed, thanks to weather, trips to FL and AB, and exhaustion, to make 5 of the 10 classes.
Tomorrow is yoga, which I haven't done enough practicing for this week. Must work on that.
Tonight as I was doing my laundry, I was reading a book I picked up this afternoon, King John of Canada (so far a very engaging read, btw), when a man asked me what I was reading. And not in a "fellow reader asking about an interesting looking book and then leaving you to get back to it" kind of way. More in a "total non-reader using it as a conversational gambit and then positing that the premise of the book is kind of like America these days (because 'they can say it's a democracy but really it's not') and how Americans are 'stupid'* and then continuing to yammer on about whatever comes into his head while you try to read your book" kind of way. And all the while you're thinking about the mindblowing irony of this guy's opinions about "americans". Yeah, like that. And he was a smelly smoker.
*apparently because there are conspiracy theorists about the JFK assassination. And, of course, there's a real internal struggle at this point between actually challenging his stereotypes and the instinct to not engage him at all beyond what basic courtesy dictates. guh
It's now 1am, so I should perhaps sleep.
