Stupid Quick Starts

Not that I've definitively determined that I'm going to Pennsic...

But I just discovered that there's a Melting Pot in Pittsburgh.

With any luck, the week long intensive enamelling workshop will not conflict with Pennsic. Cross your fingers.

Of classes, parcels, exploding days, and laundry

Class last night was, again, a lot of fun. The traffic on the way there, OTOH... The class' nadir was the moment I realized that the reason the transparent enamel I'd put on top of the other transparent enamel wasn't going transparent (despite repeated firings) was that the Orchid wasn't a transparent enamel. It was an opaque.

So I'm a dumbhead. But I still have pretty pieces of glass, and I've got a bunch of ideas for all of my projects.

My package did arrive, and I'm quite happy with the resulting contents. The fan fans well, the silk/wool will be perfect for the partlets, there was slightly over 11 yards of the silk, and the belts are quite belty. Whatever.

When I got into work this morning, it was to a bunch of unexpected, emergency requests. I dealt with those (even though the cupcakes tried to pull me away), but it put paid to my plans to have lunch with Mav. I did get over to pay my taxes. You know.. the ones from 2003. ::sighs::

Now I'm doing laundry. Given the state of my Google Calendar, it's looking like the 12th before I'll be able to do it again.

BTW, there will be pictures tomorrow of the enamel progress (and I'll even try to remember to bring them to practice). I have pictures - it's just that uploading them would be a pain.
