The first class was well worth the semi-crappy drive in. I now have four pretty enamelled bits - not terribly interesting except for the fact that I made them with my own hands. They each of them need a bit more work, but they're not bad for my first try.

As a bonus, there are 3 kilns in the workshop, each heated to 1500 degrees, so I'm not at all cold. I like kilns. Anything that keeps me warm gets my vote.

Sleep now.

As I mentioned last night, I made pretty enamelled bits last night. The object last night was to get four samples done, one each of flux, white, an opaque of my choice, and a transparent of my choice.

You can see all four to the left, and there's more pictures over at flickr of each individually and the backs so you can see the super job I did of counter-enamelling them.

As I said, all of them need to have more stuff done to them - for instance the transparent one isn't, really, because I did it last, so it didn't get enough time at a high enough temperature (every time you open the door, you lose heat). But I can slip it in next week and hopefully it will become transparent.

Anyway, there's also some pictures there of the red wool I was orgasming over on the weekend, if you're interested in that sort of thing.
