I woke up this morning to the sound of my phone ringing. It was the receptionist for the endocrinologist I had an appointment scheduled with tomorrow morning. She called to remind me of the appointment.
And then she asked if I'd filled out the form they sent. Absolutely, I said. "And what insurance do you have again?"
"United"
"I'm sorry, we don't take United."
So that's why I *had* an appointment tomorrow. So I spent an hour and a half on the UHC website, trying to locate a doctor who a) takes the insurance, b) knows at least a bit about thyroid cancer, c) wasn't educated before I was born and d) had an appointment available sometime soon. I found someone and I have an appointment, but it's not until April 18th. And that was pretty good - everyone else I called was booking in May.
And my email hasn't been working all day. I'd like a re-do, please.
