Feb. 4th, 2004 04:21 pmBack from London, having picked up my immigration medical results, and donated a test tube of blood to the lab affiliated with the nuc med doc.
The receptionist for the immigration panel doc was kind enough to let me know that all my results were normal. What this means in practice is:
1) I have all my shots
2) I don't have HIV
3) I don't have any X-ray evidence of tuberculosis
And that's about all it means. The standard really isn't very high, it would seem.
The funny thing is that, from everything I've heard, I'm going to end up with an attractive and frameable piece of art - my chest X-ray, which they make you give them, but don't actually look at, and give back to you at the interview. They don't want it at the border when you're actually activating your visa, either.
And the blood tests for my nuc med doc are to determine what my TSH is, so we can more accurately determine how long it should take for me to go hypo for the RAI proceedure. I'm calling him back on Friday, and we'll set a date then. If you all could send along positive encouragement to the universe for March 17, I would be deeply appreciative.
