You know, the more I hear out of those members of the Anglican Communion in Africa, and their rhetoric about the confirmation of that bishop, the less I personally *want* to be in communion with them.

Go, go, I would not wish you back.

Especially since for all the howling over the English and American cases, there was apparently no outcry from these same people when Tutu appointed a gay bishop in Africa. (According to a news story I read this morning. Unfortunately I don't have a further cite.)

So I caught up with a couple of old friends today, and I'm very happy.

One of them has now moved to the city where he's going to do his Master's degree, though that doesn't start for a month.

The other has found a permanant position at one of the oldest universities in England, after having a great deal of uncertainty about what would happen when his current position ends. I'm happier than I can say for him. I'm crossing my fingers that his lovely wife will also find a position.

Yay to both of them. :)
