Gah. So I was off all day today, having worked yesterday (one of the pitfalls of working with Americans pretty much exclusively is that ya'll work on our holidays, darn it).

I'm off Friday again, because... you guessed it.. all the people I work with are off for the Fourth of July.

The job is going well. It's very busy in a "I'm not having to work crazy hours, but I work steadily when I'm there" kind of way. At times, like yesterday, I feel like I'm running to catch up, but most of the time I'm good. Tuesdays and Thursdays are going to be my draining days, I think.

Yesterday, I got a phone call from my facilitator at 10:40 saying "I'm sorry, I forgot to mention this, but there's a meeting at 11, can you document it?" So that was unexpected, and it just got hectic from there on in, since there was also a meeting at 12 that I ended up having to document, and only 45 minutes between the end of the 12 pm meeting and the beginning of my monster 2 hour every Tuesday meeting. In that, I had to talk to Larry (the guy who was supposed to be documenting the 12 pm meeting), talk to Kate, and manage to get some lunch. Fortunately, Larry was willing to just take the jottings I made during the meeting and write the meeting recap.

On other fronts, I'm quite happy. I'm very happy about being married. I'm enjoying my job, even if I'm not crazy about how little time it leaves to see my friends during the week. I think it's super cool that Vancouver got the 2010 winter Olympics, moreso than I would have been if a Canadian city (like Toronto) had won the summer games, since I feel a much greater connection to winter sports than I do summer sports. (Have I mentioned that short-track speed skating rocks my socks off? mmmmm Marc Gagnon is just yummy, especially in lycra.)

My sister is moving into her new house in 3 weeks. This means that I somehow have to organize all of my stuff so that all of the stuff that's holding my stuff can be moved out, and new stuff to hold my stuff can be moved in. Yeah. Like that. And I have to figure out what's going to hold my fabric stuff after she takes the cabinet away.

Some of the fabric just has to go. Mostly the stuff I bought for the SCA, I think, and some of the heavier mundane fabrics. I'm torn between selling it and giving it away.
