Mar. 7th, 2003 06:59 pmI'm currently reading Bachelor Girls, subtitled The Secret History of Single Women in the Twentieth Century. So far, it's not gripping, but it's interesting enough.
I just finished The Great Good Thing, by Roderick Townley. It's a kid lit, with an absolutely fascinating premise, and an entertaining execution. The book is about Sylvie, who's been a storybook princess for 80 years. Her life is exciting, except it's always exciting in the same way. The book is about what happens when things stop happening the same way. It's also predicated on a fascinating theory about the interior life of books.
And, I pre-ordered Order of the Phoenix this week, at the independent bookseller in Fergus. Whee!
