wow.. could that have been more fun?
Feb. 3rd, 2003 04:20 pmAt least my doctor is a very pleasant man.
I had an appointment to go see him to get some blood work done. So I worked on some last minute stuff this morning, and then hopped in the truck, fortunately remembering to get something to eat on the way down to Guelph.
They took five vials of blood. My left arm is still unhappy with me. However, that wasn't the worst. I left the office, got in the truck, turned the key, and .... it started.
Well, no, it didn't, but "nothing" would have been so cliche there. I phoned my mother, who phoned roadside assistance. They took about half an hour to get there. The freezing rain started about halfway through.
Note to self: Don't stay out in the freezing cold directly after having a whack of blood removed from body. My hands are normally cold with all the blood I'm supposed to have.
The nice man started the truck by shorting out the starter, then told me to go straight to my mechanic, do not pass go, do not go home, and forget about $200. So I was concerned all the way back to Fergus about how I'm actually going to get home, if I have to leave my truck at the shop. But Brian sent me home, said it'd probably be fine, and to bring it in tomorrow.
Gosh... all that and a not-completely diagnosed server exploit in a product we were supposed to release today. Whee!
