According to the Star this morning, Canadian parents spend one billion* annually on minor hockey for their kids.

That's about equivalent to what Prince Edward Island estimates its expenses will be this year.

Don't get me wrong.. I love the game and any kid I have will have the option to play.

But I think it's getting way too expensive.

I've been researching the cost of travel hockey for Dante and it's really expensive, like upwards of $2k a season, not including ANYTHING, really.

It probably isn't helped by the fact that there aren't many options down here, compared to up north.

I'm telling you, you need to move to a cold climate.. like Toronto. ;)
