It may be me. The county in question is in Oregon. The ACLU is threatening a lawsuit against Oregon (or unnamed state blah) for failing to register marriages.
Seems a little cutting nose to spite face to me.

I'm glad that there's something forcing this to further discussion. Just occasionally have had enough of the four-letter-groups who decide that they're still being victims.
i think that the ACLU action has little to do with this, other than the fact that they both stem from the gay marriage debate.
Arguably, putting it in the article is kind of messy journalism "oh, look.. i still have a word count to fill.. hey, there's this other Oregon gay marriage story.. i'll reference it, even though it's a completely different situation"
