medicals and other fun ways to break a day in half
So, I went to the doctor today, for my annual physical. Well.. actually as it turns out, my first physical, since I'd apparently been getting yearly checkups by gynocologists who paid scant attention to my overall health.
My doctor went over a whole bunch of stuff with me, and the
Thanks to the most wonderful man in the world, I realized at 10 that my appointment was at 11, not at 12 as I'd previously thought. So I raced about, showering and getting dressed. And as I'm stooping over the clean laundry, trying to find the newest, whitest pair of panties that I posess, I thought to myself "but.. I'm just going to hide them under all my other clothes". As has been pointed out in the past, the hiding of underwear in your doctor's office has got to be one of the goofier things women do.
Made it to the office on time, and got to sit and wait a bit. Blood pressure is good, and weight is down (yay!) My bloodwork from last month was absolutely stellar (blood sugar, cholestorol, iron and all those important things) and I'm immune to all the things I should be immune to, though he's recommending I consider a Hep A/B vaccination.
I spent a whole whack of time with the doctor, getting thouroughly checked out. As I mentioned, this is a new experience for me. So it turns out that I have a bump on my thyroid. whee! So off to get more blood drawn, and I get to have an ultrasound done tomorrow.
He also gave me a scrip to deal with some of the GI issues I've been having, and my BC scrip. Nothing for the headaches, but he's going to refer me to a dermitologist to get my moles looked at. All in all, the most useful and responsive a doctor has been to me in at least a decade.
So, it's all good, pending the results of the test on the bloodwork today and the ultrasound tomorrow. Wish me luck.
